1 lb. fresh green beans
1/3 c. water
2 tbs. brown sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
3 tbs. of lemon juice
1 tbs. butter
TOPPING:
1/4 c. Italian style bread crumbs
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1 dash of nutmeg-fresh ground
1 2qt. casserole

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans, cut end off and break into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Place in a 2qt microwavable casserole dish. Microwave on high for 10 minutes. ( Stir half way through cooking period) Let stand for 5 minutes. Drain- reserve 1/4 cup of bean liquid, set aside. Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in a 2 cup glass measure. Add lemon juice and bean liquid to glass measure. Microwave for 1 minutes on high power. Stir and continue to microwave for another minute on high. Stir in butter and when it's melted add the liquid to the beans. Prepare Topping: Combine bread crumbs, almonds and nutmeg. Cover beans with the mixture. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. serve.
