1 C Butter or Margarine
1 C Vegetable Oil
1 C Powdered Sugar
1 C Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
4 C Flour plus 2 heaping T
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Cream of Tartar
dash of Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, oil, and sugars together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well and refrigerate. Roll in balls and coat with granulated sugar. Press down with the bottom of a glass. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350, about 10 minutes or until slightly golden in color.
Can easily half this recipe.

This is a recipe from our much missed neighbor, Agnes Cox. It is my favorite sugar cookie, and I've made it many times for family.
