4 cups milk
1 cup rice
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup slivered almonds
1/2 tsp. rose water
cardamom powder

Directions:
Directions:
Bring milk to boil, add rice & water. Lower heat & cook until rice is soft. Add sugar and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.

Remove from heat, add almonds and rose water. Pour into bowl and sprinkle cardamom on top. Serve warm or cold.

You can find rose water in some regular grocery stores in the baking section or at Whole Foods. It adds an amazing aroma and flavor to this recipe. There are recorded recipes with rose water dating back to the 8th century! In the Middle East and Asia, cooked meat is often infused with it... AND...another great use for rose water is in cocktails!!! Add a little to a MARGARITA and enjoy a really unique drink!
