1 c sugar, 3 tbsp. butter, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 2 c water
MIX & set aside:
1/2 c sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Unroll refrigerator dough and cut into quarters. Roll out each dough quarter to desired thickness - keeping the shape square.
Place a peeled and cored apple in the center of the dough. Fill hole in apple with the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Fold up each side of the dough around the apple using a small piece of butter to seal or hold the dough in place.
Place dumplings in a cake pan and pour the boiled mixture over them. Place a small pat of butter on top of each dumpling.
Bake at 425 for 40 minutes basting frequently. Test doneness by inserting a knife into the apple to make sure it is done.
