Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Recipe

1 stick Butter
1/2 to 1 C Brown Sugar
1 can Sliced Pineapple Rings
1 box Yellow Cake Mix
Maraschino Cherries, sliced in half, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the butter in a cake pan. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the butter in the bottom of the pan. Place the sliced pineapple on top of the sugar. Cut some of the slices in half to fill in the edges. Place the cherries in the middle of the pineapple rings round side down. Make the cake mix as directed and pour into the pan. Bake according to cake directions. Let it cool some. Put a cookie sheet over the cake pan and turn over. Tap the bottom of the cake pan to release the cake from the pan. Serve with cool whip.
