Crust:
6 c. Flour
2 c. Shortening
3 tsp. Salt
3/4 c. Cold Water

In the Dumplings:
12 Cut, Sliced and Peeled Apples
Cinnamon
Stick Butter

Syrup:
2 c. Sugar
1 c. Water

Directions:
Directions:
Use the first four ingredients for the crust. Mix them up and roll out in a circle. Put apples, sugar, cinnamon, and butter on top of the crust and cover all of the apples with crust to make your dumpling. Bake til brown (about 45 mins) While baking mix the ingredients together for the syrup. Boil for a minute or two. Then pour the syrup on the dumplings and bake for 15-20 mins more.

For more flaky crust use 1/4 c. less water and substitute 2 tsp. of vinegar.
*For an easier dumpling crust buy 4 boxes of Pillsbury© pie crust.
