2 cloves Garlic
6 T Unsalted Butter
3 lbs Yellow Potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
1 1/2 pints Heavy Cream or Half and Half
Salt and Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Rinse potatoes slices and then pat dry. Rub dish with garlic and butter. Arrange the potato slices in layers in the dish. Season between layers with salt and pepper. Dot with remaining butter. Pour cream over potatoes. Bake until cream has absorbed about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Increase the heat to 400. Cook until top is slightly brown about 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
