c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1-1/4 c. (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Bring above ingredients (except the sw. condensed milk and vanilla) to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir in condensed milk and cook stirring constantly to 245 for 12-15 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and dip each apple into caramel mixture; turn to coat and set on a buttered baking sheet.

Can also just melt a 14 oz. bag of caramels over low heat and add 2 T. milk or cream. Can sprinkle with your favorite toppings. Nuts, granola, raisins, dried cherries, choc. chips, crushed cookies, sprinkles, etc.
