2 cups flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. soda
1 tbs. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. of nutmeg
1 tsp. of cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 c. nuts chopped
1 c. raisins or currents
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 c. oil
1 cake pan 13"x 9"x 2"

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together in a bowl, flour, sugar, soda, cornstarch, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Add nuts, raisins, applesauce and oil. Mix and blend well. Place batter into cake pan. Bake in preheated 350 oven, for 50 to 60 minutes. Test for completion. Dust with powder sugar or frost with a cream cheese frosting.
