2 (9-inch) frozen pie crusts, thawed
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
6 tbsp cocoa
4 cups milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Bake pie crusts according to package directions. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, butter and egg yolks. Stir well to combine. Pour into saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until mixture thickens, about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and stir well. Set aside.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add remaining 1/2 cup sugar by tablespoonfuls, incorporating well after each addition. Spread over pies. Bake 5 minutes or until meringue browns.
