Ingredients:
Short Ribs. Usually 2 per women and children, 3 for men. This recipe was originally for beef brisket.
1 large onion, thinly sliced; more if you wish
1/2 c. chili sauce
2 Tbls. brown sugar (rounded)
1 12 oz. beer
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the short ribs if you wish. Sometimes I don't. In a bowl combine chili sauce, brown sugar and beer; stir well. Place beef in large casserole, pour the beer-chili mixture over the meat and cover tightly with foil. Bake in a preheated oven for 3 - 3 1/2 hours at 350.

I serve this with mashed potatoes. I usually use the juice for gravy but you can thicken it by using 2 Tbls. of flour with 1/2 c. cold water; stir until well mixed and then add gradually add to the meat juices. Cook until thickened.

Personal Notes:
This is really good if you can get the short ribs with the bone. They are harder to find. Our family really likes these. Of course we serve this with corn.
