1/2 c shortening or butter
1 c sugar
1 egg

1 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla or lemon extract

2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add 1 egg and mix well. Add the milk and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and beat until smooth. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder and beat until smooth. Chill if possible. Roll out, cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 400 for about 10 minutes.
