1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

1 cup dates
1 cup water
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Mix cookie ingredients in order given. Chill. Roll 1/4" thick and cut. Cook filling ingredients until thick and cool. Spoon filling onto cookie dough and bake at 350.
