Dissolve 2 cakes yeast (Quick Rise) in 1/4 c. warm water

Add 1 c. warm (not hot) milk.

Stir in 1 cup flour and mix well (Let rise in warm place while you prepare the next).

1 cup oleo
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt

Beat til creamy; add first mixture to this and add at least 5 c. flour to make a soft dough. Knead until easy to handle. Let rise again. Shape in 2 large or 3 smaller balls; roll in oblong shape; spread with SOLO filling you like. Roll up like jelly roll.

Put on greased cooky sheets; let rise again until double. Bake 350.

Make frosting with little warm milk; teaspoon melted butter or oleo and add almond flavoring and powdered sugar. Spread on cake after it has been out of oven for at least 10 minutes.

Paula was a wonderful cook. I spent a morning with her once so she could show me how to make these coffee cakes. After we finished I had to have a glass of Morgan David wine with her!
