2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. f lour
1-1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. apples (diced)
1/2 c. walnuts

TOPPING:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2.c. butter (softened)
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the sugar and shortening. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.

TOPPING:
Mix together all ingredients. While cake is hot, spread over top of it. Sprinkle with sifted powder sugar.
