IN SAUCE PAN: (Let mixture boil, then remove from heat)
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening or oil
1 c. water
3 T. cocoa

IN BOWL:
2 c. sugar
2 eggs (well beaten)
1/2 c. buttermilk (may use milk with small amount of vinegar instead of buttermilk)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour

ICING:
1 stick butter (softened)
3 T. cocoa
6 T milk
1 pound powdered sugar
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

SAUCEPAN MIXTURE:
Let mixture boil, then remove from heat.

BOWL MIXTURE:
Mix everything except flour. After mixed, add flour and mix again.

Mix ingredients of saucepan and bowl together, then pour into a greased and floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Mix together icing and apply to cake after cooled.
