Crust:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. butter or margarine, melted
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt

Filling:
1 can tart red cherries
1 c. sugar
3 Tbs. flour
1/2 t. almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the 6 ingredients for the crust. Put half crumb mixture in bottom of 9x9" buttered baking dish. Combine sugar and flour for filling and stir into juice drained from cherries. Cook until thick. Add cherries and blend in flavoring. Pour cherry mixture cover crumbs in baking dish and top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until brown on top.

Use the canned tart cherries for this recipe, not cherry pie filling. This can be served warm or cold with whipped topping, ice cream or milk.
