Base:
1 C. butter- softened,
2 C. brown sugar,
2 eggs,
3 C. oatmeal,
2 1/2 C. flour,
2 tsp vanilla,
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

Fudge filling:
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg. chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 T. butter
1 C. chopped walnuts (or almonds are really good, too!)

Directions:
Directions:
Base: Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Slowly beat in salt, soda, oatmeal and flour until well-combined. Press 2/3 of the mixture into greased jelly-roll pan.

Filling: Over low heat, melt remaining butter, choc. chips, milk and salt. Stir until smooth, then add nuts and vanilla. Pour over the crust. Then drop/sprinkle remaining spoonfuls of "base" mixture.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
