1 lb. box macaroni or 5 lb. potatoes
2 c. mayonnaise
2 c. salad dressing
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. mustard
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. water
salt & pepper to taste
3 hardboiled eggs, diced

Cook macaroni or potatoes till done. I cook potatoes whole with skins, remove from pot and let cool, then peel and dice. For the dressing, dissolve sugar in vinegar and a little water then add to the rest of ingredients. If it looks dry after setting in the fridge, add water; stir.

This dressing usually stays pretty flavorful and not so bland.
