"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
Patricia gave me a crockpot for Christmas one year when I was in law school (1975?). As a busy working mother I used it to make so many quick crockpot meals that Tacy once asked for a meal that was not out of a crockpot! The advantage of the crockpot meal is that by adding Minute Rice, a frozen vegetable, and a lettuce salad, you can have a complete meal in less than ten minutes from the time you walk in the door after work.
