Add 2/3 c. raisins to 2/3 c. hot water and let cool. Cream together 2/3 c. shortening, 2 2/3 c. sugar, 4 eggs, 2 c. pumpkin. Sift together 3 1/3 c. flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp cloves 1/2 tsp. allspice, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 2 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. nutmeats. Combine all ingredients and pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake for one hour at 350º.
