1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
5 eggs
2 t. lemon flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter with sugar and cream together well. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Add flour, mix well. Add lemon flavoring; beat together well. Grease and flour a loaf pan, then insert mixture and put in a "cold oven." Bake 1 hour at 325. Test with toothpick. If toothpick is clean upon withdrawal, then cake is done, If not clean, continue to bake and retest.
