1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup soft shortening
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two layer pans. Blend in bowl flour, sugar, soda, salt and cocoa. Add shortening and 2/3 cup milk. Beat 2 minutes, medium speed with mixer. Add rest of milk, eggs and vanilla. Beat 2 more minutes. Pour into pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
