1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. softened butter, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. almond extract, 4 eggs, 3 c. flour, 1 can cherry pie filling, 1 c. confectioner's sugar, 1-2 Tbs. milk.

Blend sugar, butter, shortening, baking powder, vanilla, almond and eggs on low speed. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in flour. Grease a 15"X10" jelly roll pan and spread 2/3 of the batter in it. Spread pie filling over batter and drop remaining batter by spoonful onto the pie filling. Bake for about 45 minutes at 350. While still warm, make a glaze with the confectioners sugar and milk and drizzle over the cake.
