C melted Crisco or liquid oil
1 C sugar
C molasses
1 egg
2 tsp baking soda

Mix these ingredients together well.
2 C sifted flour
tsp cloves
tsp salt
tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix well. Form into small balls. Roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet, and bake 8-10 minutes, 375 degree oven. Take out of oven when soft, and not real dark. Be careful not to burn bottom.
