1 lb. butter, softened, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 5 c. flour.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar very well. Add flour one cup at a time. Once all the flour has been added, knead the dough well before pressing into a pan. Poke all over with fork and bake at 325 for 40 minutes or until a pale golden color.

Annie Laird was a Scottish immigrant to the US and worked for many years as the housekeeper to Rev. Dr. Talbott until he died. Annie remained a member of First Presbyterian Church of Passaic and is still a good friend to me. LJZS-
