1 bag (14 oz.) caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
1 box chocolate cake mix
6 Tblsp. butter, melted
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 c. chopped pecans (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Unwrap caramels and place in saucepan with 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the remained 1/3 c. evaporated milk, dry cake mix, melted butter, and nuts (if desired). Stir until well blended. Spread 1/2 this mixture in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Cool 2 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the caramels over medium to low heat; stirring frequently. Be careful not to burn. Sprinkle chocolate chips over brownies. Drizzle melted caramels over top. Cover evenly. Drop remaining cake mixture by spoonfuls over all. Spread evenly. Return to oven for 16-18 minutes. Do not overbake. Cut while warm, but do not remove from pan until cool.
