1 1/2 c. plus 2 T. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten

Directions:
Directions:
Have all ingredients at room temperature. Grease two 8 in. round layer cake pans generously, and dust with flour. Combine flour, sugar, soda, salt and cocoa. Add shortening, milk, and vanilla, and beat with electric mixer at slow to medium speed for 2 min.. Add egg and beat 2 min. longer. Pour batter into pans. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min.
