Boil together: 2 cups sugar 1 cup vinegar 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1 Tbs. salt
Peel and slice 8 cucumbers, peel and slice 1-2 onions. pack cucumbers and onions, alternately in a clean glass jar, packing them down. Pour marinade over making sure there is enough to cover the pickles completely. Refrigerate at least overnight. Keeps well in fridge for months.
