8 slices bacon
2 heads freshly chopped broccoli
1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese
1/2 large red onion, chopped
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
1/8 c. white sugar
2 tsp. black pepper
2/3 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cook and crumble the bacon in a skillet. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cheese, bacon and onion. Prepare the dressing in a small bowl by whisking together the red wine vinegar, sugar, pepper, salt, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Combine dressing with the dry ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. If using salad dressing instead of mayonnaise do not use the red wine vinegar. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving at your gathering.
