1 - 9" pie shell, baked
4 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 1/8 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 c. sour cream
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 T. lemon juice
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 T. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:

Mix together in a saucepan: cornstarch, sugar, and nutmeg. Mix in sour cream. Add egg yolks, raisins, and lemon juice. Stir until thoroughly combined. Cook mixture over a medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil and stir one minute. Pour into pastry shell. In a large bowl (glass or metal) beat together egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Add brown sugar, 1 T. at a time, until whites are stiff and glossy. Beat in vanilla extract. Spread over pie sealing edges. Bake in a preheated 400 oven until golden brown.
