1 cup boiling water
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
cup margarine
2 large eggs
1 cup unsifted flour
1 teaspoon soda
teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 (12 oz) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
cup chopped nuts

Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Let stand at room temperature 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and margarine. Stir until margarine melts. Add eggs; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, and cocoa. Add flour to sugar mixture; mix well. Add about half the package of chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9X13 inch pan.

Sprinkle walnuts and remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

VARIATION: Use 1 cups flour and 2 tablespoons cocoa.
