Directions:
Mix the starter, milk and 1 c flour in a large. bowl. Mix the night before if you are serving biscuits for breakfast. Cover the bowl and keep at room temperature to let rise. Turn this very soft dough out onto 1 c flour on a bread board. Combine salt, sugar, baking powder and soda with remaining 1/2 cup flour and sift over the top. With your hands, mix dry ingredients into the soft dough. Kneading lightly to get correct consistency, which should be elastic and softly shining. Dough will be just a trifle stickier than regular biscuit dough. Roll out to 1/2 " thickness. Cut out biscuits with a cutter and dip each in warm bacon grease. Place close
together in a 9 " sq. pan and set in warm spot to let rise about 1/2 hour. Bake at 375 degrees 30 - 35 minutes. Makes about 14 biscuits.
