2 lbs. great northern dried beans Water 1 ham hock 2 T. granulated garlic (optional) 1 T. crushed red pepper 4 T. salt
Wash and sort beans. Cover beans with water and cook on high until reaching boiling point. Turn temperature down to simmer (or medium low). Add ham hock, garlic, red pepper and salt. Let simmer for approximately 3 hours.
