1 c. mashed potatoes,
1 c. sugar,
1 Tbs. butter,
2 eggs,
vanilla,
nutmeg,
3 tsp. baking powder,
salt,
Flour to stiffen

Directions:
Directions:
Blend flour, baking powder and salt. Blend sugar, butter and potatoes. Add eggs, vanilla and nutmeg.
Mix in flour mixture. Heat shortening in deep fat fryer or deep skillet to very hot. Test by sprinkling a few drops of water on top of fat. When the water dances the fat is hot enough. Roll out dough and cut with doughnut cutter. Fry doughnuts and holes for three to five minutes, flip carefully and cook a few more minutes. Either frost or shake in powdered sugar.
