1 C. sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 C. buttermilk
2 eggs
2 tsp. root beer extract
1 tsp. vanilla
4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

1 C. powdered sugar
1 T. half & half
2 tsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. root beer extract

Heat oven to 375. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Set aside. In large mixing bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, 1 cup butter. Then buttermilk, eggs, 2 tsp. root beer extract and the vanilla. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Beat at low speed until soft dough forms.

Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set. Cool completely.

In a small mixing bowl, combine frosting ingredients. Beat at low speed of electric mixer until smooth. Spread frosting evenly on cookies. Let dry completely before storing.
