1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter
3/4 c. packed dark brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 (12-oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oven to 375. Cream together the sugars and butter and then add in the eggs. Then beat in the vanilla. Whisk the flour, baking soda, and the salt together in a medium bowl. Then gradually add to the butter mixture until well blended but don't overbeat. Then add in the chocolate chips and nuts if you would like. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown. Remove from sheet while hot and cool completely on a wire cookie rack.

These cookies are really good. I take them out when the have just turned golden brown. I add in a mixture of walnuts and pecans.
