1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 c. nuts
1 c. chopped dates

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375.
