Luscious Lemon Bread Recipe

3/4 C. butter
1 1/4 C. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 C. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 C. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. lemon rind
3/4 C. chpd. pecans

Lemon glaze:
1/2 C. lemon juice
3/4 C. powdered sugar.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease a loaf pan. Beat butter and sugar, then add eggs. Mix well. Add flour, salt, and baking soda to mixture, alternating with buttermilk, ending with flour mixture. Stir in lemon rind and pecans.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool bread on wire rack for 15 min.in pan. Pierce top of loaf with toothpick and 1/2 inch intervals. Pour glaze over top and allow to soak in .Take out of pan and allow to cool.
