2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter softened
2 TLB milk
1 tsp vanilla
34 candied cherries
1 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except cherries and nuts. blend well. Divide dough in two parts --shape each into a 12 inch roll on waxed paper. Place 17 cherries side by side on top of each roll. Press cherries lightly into dough until centered. Mold dough to cover cherries. Sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts evenly over each sheet of waxed paper. Roll dough in walnuts. Wrap and chill at least 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and cook 350 degrees 12 - 15 min.
