1 1/4 c. old fashioned oats (not quick cooking)
1 c. plain, cinnamon, or apple granola
2 c. milk, plus more if desired
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into 1"cubes
1/4 pears, peeled, cored, and chopped into 1" cubes
1/4 c. walnuts, toasted
1/4 c. maple syrup or brown sugar (optional)

Spray inside of Crock-Pot with Pam. Add oats, granola, milk, water, salt, cinnamon, and fruit to the Crock-Pot. Stir ingredients. Cover and cook on Low for 7-9 hours or High 2-3 hours. On a large baking sheet, toast walnuts on top rack of the broiler for about 4 minutes. Turn frequently. Add walnuts to Crock-Pot. Spoon oatmeal into bowls and serve hot. Add additional milk, maple syrup, or brown sugar if you desire.

You can buy walnuts that have been baked with cinnamon and sugar on them, or make your own. Just mix walnuts with egg whites and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake for about 10 min. at 375 or till walnuts are done.
