1 cup margarine or butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup sugar 2-3 eggs (3 for chewier cookies) 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup molasses 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. each of ginger & nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350ļ. Mix the ingredients one at time, in order. Roll 1 1/2 inch balls out of the dough and roll them in sugar before placing them on a cookie sheet. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet for 3-5 minutes after baking. They may look a little doughie at first, but they cook a little while standing.
