"The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found."--Calvin Trillin

1 tsp. soda
1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat Sour Cream and eggs together. Sift together flour, sugar, salt, cocoa and soda. Add sifted ingredients to sour cream-egg mixture; mix thoroughly. Add Vanilla. Bake in two greased and lightly floured 8-inch layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done. Cool then ice with 7-minute icing.
7-minute icing instructions:
In top of double boiler, place egg whites, sugar, corn syrup, cold water and salt. Beat one minute to blend. Place over boiling water (water should not touch top of pan) and cook, beating constantly until icing forms stiff peaks, about 7 minutes (do not overcook). Remove from boiling water, add vanilla. Beat until spreading consistency, two minutes. This icing will frost top and sides of two layers.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
A mother eagle builds her nest with sticks and feathers. As the baby eagles get old, the mother pulls out the feathers. Uncomfortable then she takes the Eagles way up high then lets go. Then babies fall down...then mother swoops down and pick them up and starts over again, again and again until the eagles can fly.
