Ingredients:  
2 1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar
2 long cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole allspice
6 small red cooking apples
1/4 tsp red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, except apples in large skillet. Bring to boil. Simmer for five minutes. Cut apples crosswise into 1/2 inch slices. Cut out core and place in skillet. Cook five minutes.
