1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup boiling water
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef and drain. Add onion to boiling water and simmer five minutes. Add soup, salt, and pepper to cooked onion. Cover bottom on 11/2 quart casserole dish with layer of potatoes. Add layer of meat, then soup mixture. Continue alternating layers. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes to one hour, until potatoes are tender.
