3/4 c. butter softened,
1/4 c. lard or shortening,
1/2 c. granulated sugar,
1 egg,
2 c. flour,
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla.
Stir in flour. Shape into cylinder same size as cookie press. Chill at least three hours. Place in cookie press with selected pattern attached. Press onto cookie sheet and bake 3-7 minutes depending on design, or just until brown on edge. Remove from sheet and cool. Cookies can be decorated with colored sugars or sprinkles before baking.
