1 1/2 cups cooked chick peas or one 15 1/2 ounce can (drained)
2 T. sesame seeds
2 T. oil
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup minced parsley
2 cloves garlic, pressed
2 T. fresh lemon juice
1 t. oregano
salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mash the chick peas into a thick paste. In a heavy skillet, toast the sesame seeds on medium high heat for 1-2 minutes or until golden. Add the sesame seeds to the paste. Saute the onions and the garlic in the heated oil until tender. Add the parsley until wilted. Cool and add all ingredients to the paste. Chill and serve as a dip with fresh vegetables or pita wedges.
