Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
cup of shortening ( Crisco)
cup of Peanut Butter (Creamy, I use Skippy)
cup of white sugar
cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Stir ingredients until creamy

Add 1 a cup of sifted flour
teaspoon of baking powder
teaspoon of baking soda
teaspoon of salt


Directions:

Mix well and roll into balls. Press a floured fork across each ball to form criss cross design and flatten. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, makes 3 dozen. Each tray of cookies make a take a little less time because the oven is hot.

This was my first cookie recipe in my 7th grade home economics class. Its still the only one I use.
