Pastry for a 2 crust pie
4 cups thinly sliced apples (Granny Smith are the best)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 stick butter

TOPPING
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Peel the apples and place in a large bowl. Add the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix. Add the apple mixture to a glass pie dish with the pie crust in place. Dot with butter. Place the other pie crust on top and pinch the two crusts together. Bake in a 400 oven for 30 minutes and then reduce the heat to 350 for about another 15 minutes or until the apples are tender. Remove from oven and drizzle over the top the maple syrup and powdered sugar mixture.
