2 pkgs. yeast,
1 cup lukewarm water,
3 Tbsp. sugar,
1 egg, well beaten,
1/2 tsp. salt,
1/3 cup melted butter,
1 tsp. vanilla,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
2-1/2 cups flour (more if dough is too sticky),
cooking oil for frying

Directions:

Mix yeast, water and sugar. Wait until bubbles form in the mixture. Add egg, butter, cinnamon, vanilla, salt and flour. Mix to form dough. Knead for 1 minute. Roll out and cut out doughnuts. Allow to rise for 30 minutes on a floured surface. Fry in oil until golden. (Oil should be approx. 400). Make a glaze of powdered sugar and milk to a runny consistency, then dip the doughnuts in the glaze and rest them on a baking rack to cool.

I don't let them cool too long!!!! We dive right in. These are the best and easiest, quickest doughnuts--great for a Saturday morning.
